What matters most to us:
Being the leader in the construction of education and medical facilities in Chile.
What we learned:
We have some good employee practices, but they are a little bit informal. We realized that we must communicate these ideas to our employees through formal policies and programs. We were also shocked by how low the scores were in Environment. As a construction company, we could do a lot - such as LEAN construction to reduce overhead and waste streams. But it will be a challenge for our business to involve all of our 10 different construction sites to follow certain environmental protocols.
What we did as a result:
The general manager, purchasing manager, training manager, and myself (HR manager) met as a group to draft a new vision and program for our employees. We wanted to drive happiness to our 800 employees. We will need this change to increase our productivity.
